Dry cleaning upholstery, requires the use of some solvents which are none carcinogens. This can be a very effective method of cleaning, but it does pose severe health risks for both the cleaning technician and the owner. The area where the cleaning will be done must be properly ventilated and the proper safety equipment must be used. We rarely use this method because of the safety factors and it is also very expensive. There are fabrics that absolutely have to be dry cleaned. In most cases fabrics that have to be dry cleaned are fabrics that are used in very expensive "custom made and imported" furniture. Most any fabric even natural fibers like cotton, silk and wool can be steam cleaned.
Using our Low Moisture steam cleaning process, we are able to remove the food stains, urine stains, oily stains, make-up stains, cosmetics, greasy stains, pet stains, hair and odors. Our process is very safe and very very effective. The major difference between Dry Cleaning and Low Moisture steam cleaning is the safety issue. The very mild chemicals that we use are effectively and completely extracted from the fabric. No extra or special safety equipment like respirators are needed and the fabric dry time is one hour. With Dry cleaning, it is advised that the upholstery not be used for up to 24 hours.
If you have pets or small children, family members with allergies, we strongly recommend that your furniture be cleaned at least once per year. Sometimes more frequent cleaning is necessary especially if you have pets that shed.
